#SuperWomen | Marie Claire @WORK Live

Very different for me on a Saturday morning but yesterday found myself at Marie Claire @Work Live. Orangised by the magazine, it was pitched as an inspirational day of "game-changing" talks and practical advice. Totally didn't disappoint, it was all of that and so much more. It all kicked off with Trish Haplin (editor-in-chief at Marie Claire) setting the theme for the day and that was very much CHANGE. It was amazing to hear Nisham Robb (Head of Ads Marketing for Google) talking about the "Wonder Woman" pose and how we should all get better at bragging. It is not bragging if you can back it up you know.
Anita Rani (Broadcaster) & Laura Bates (Founder of The Everyday Sexism Project) were on hand to talk through how they got where they are today and the challenges for women. The day was split into keynote talks and breakout sessions. I wanted to go for the the Dream. Dare. Create. From Blog to Business. I follow Fritha Strickland (Tigerlilly Quinn) and she had mentioned that she was speaking at the event. I did a little research and thought it that it would be really interesting hence me going along, Thanks Fritha!! Also introduced me to other bloggers such as Love Chic Living & A Little Lusciousness.

Next up, we had another keynote on Inspirations. We had the Mediacom Chair, Karen Blackett, Stella Creasy MP and author Sophie Kinsella. I had been reading Sophie's books for years, so it was brilliant to see that she was on the programme of speakers. Massive shout out to Stella Creasy for a bit of #tattydevince inspiration. I must confess inspiration from the some unlikely places here. This Aarrghhhh necklace now needs to be mine (well actually, I have just ordered it whilst writing, oops!)

What seemed like the token man for the day, Bruce Masefield (UK Creative Director for Sassoon) was on hand to show us all hair hacks. Apparently we should all stay away from straighteners, it all about blow-drying the right way.

The event was held at Altitude London, amazing high rise overlooking the Thames, it literally had panoramic views of all the London Landmarks. I spent the rest of the afternoon wandering around the mini treatment areas. @THEBRAIDBAR wasn't for me with my short hair but proving very popular. I did get a facial from @MuradSkincare however. My skin felt amazing afterwards so silky and smooth. It has really turned me onto facials in the future I think.

The last session was delivered by Isy Suttie AKA Dobby From Peep Show. I have never really had much exposure to her as an actress but a refreshing take on life and really really funny. I can't wait to read #TheActualOne, here new book. Lucky enough to get it signed by Isy. She also loved my bright green Mulberry Bayswater, love a girl that appreciates a good handbag. Finishing off the day with a @CointreauUK cocktail, beautiful Cointreau Fizz. Ok, so I might have had more than one but seriously lovely.
